This edition also features substance after the story that I really liked. There are quotes from Dahl, a picture of things he kept on his desk, facts, trivia, & a lot of other neat stuff that made it really interesting. I really loved the quirky things he kept on his desk ! But . . . but . . . but . . .' cried Mrs Gregg, going purple in the face. 'My dear man, what's happened to you?' `What's happened to both of us, you mean!' shouted Mr Gregg. It was Mrs Gregg's turn now to jump out of bed. She ran to look at herself in the glass. But she was not tall enough to see into it. She was even smaller than Mr Gregg, and she, too, had got wings instead of arms. `Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!' sobbed Mrs Gregg. `This is witches' work!' cried Mr Gregg. And both of them started running around the room, flapping their wings. A minute later Philip and William burst in. The same thing had happened to them. They had wings and no arms. And they were really tiny. They were about as big as robins. `Mama! Mama! Mama!' chirruped Philip. `Look, Mama, we can fly!' And they flew up into the air. `Come down at once!' said Mrs Gregg. `You're much too high!' But before she could say another word, Philip and William had flown right out the window. 25 desafortunadamente ya leí la mayoría de los libros de roald dahl. but i wish there were more new dahl stories for me to devour, because reading this one en español brought a childlike joy to my experience of the story. his absurdist humor is so entertaining. making my way through the words slowly, i often laughed out loud at the sheer ridiculousness, probably much like a child reading a new dahl tale for the first time. EFFECT: You tell your spectator that if they can link the paperclips only using the bill, they can keep the bill. They of course cannot. HOW TO DO IT On one particular morning, she sees the Greggs coming out of the forest with a dead deer. She begins to yell at them. The boys make fun of her and Mr Gregg tells her to mind her own business. She feels herself getting enraged and she loses control over her emotions. Suddenly, before she can stop herself, her magical powers come out. She uses what she refers to as her "magic finger" on the whole family.

It also talks of the illustrator and Dahl. I love that this stuff was added in. It added length and depth for me. So, ... EFFECT: You produce a Sharpie at your fingertips, make it disappear, and then make it reappear behind your elbow. HOW TO DO IT PRODUCTION

The Magic Finger is narrated by an eight-year-old girl, growing up on a farm, in the English countryside, next door to the Gregg family, who have a passion for hunting. She is immediately upset, as she did not intend to do this, particularly to Mrs Gregg who wasn't even present at the scene. She says that another time she used the finger by accident and regretted it. In class one day, the narrator's teacher, Mrs Winter, scolds her for misspelling the word cat.

Hmm. Ok. This is just an aside but I feel like it’s worth mentioning. Hunters have been given a really bad rap this past hundred years or so in the West and that really needs to stop. I think a large part of that is down to Disney, not just for that notorious scene from Bambi but for their many lovable talking animal characters. And that’s what turns some people to vegetarianism or veganism. The Gregg family loves to hunt - oftentimes for sport rather than need - and the poor girl has to watch them bring in all these dead animals every week. She witnesses the Gregg family kill bird after bird (bringing home sixteen of them one day) and in her anger, she points at them with that magic finger. And thus begins the Gregg family's harrowing journey and path to redemption. The Greggs flew down and sat on the wall `A nest!' they said. 'Can we do that?' near the door. Mrs Gregg began to cry. 'We must do it,' said Mr Gregg. 'We've got to have somewhere to sleep. Follow me.' `Oh, dear! Oh, dear!' she sobbed. 'They have ta.ken our house. What shall we do? We have no place to go!' Even the boys began to cry a bit now. `We will be eaten by cats and foxes in the They flew off to a tall tree, and right at the night!' said Philip. top of it Mr Gregg chose the place for the nest. `I want to sleep in my own bed!' said William. 31 `Now then,' said Mr Gregg. 'It isn't any good crying. That won't help us. Shall I tell you what we arc going to do?' `What?' they said. Mr Gregg looked at them and smiled. 'We are going to build a nest.' 30 At this point start to squeeze the ball tight. Your pulse will stop. It is kind of crazy. After you get a reaction, release pressure on the ball and let your pulse start again.IMPORTANT POINTS: The illusion here looks amazing. Especially when you catch your spectators off guard. You could of course do this with a spoon. Coin From Ear
