Should I disable wifi on one or the other (if so, which) or should I manually set them to be the same?

This guarantees that the given IP address will never be ascribed to a different MAC address and the given MAC address will always get the same IP address. If you do need to use the ZTE wifi then you could simply change its SSID and password to match that of the MW6 so you don’t have to switch between networks manually, but you may need to tweak settings to minimise interference, meaning setting the channels appropriately and maybe adjusting the wifi power too so that you help encourage roaming between ZTE and nearest MW6 node as you move around the house. The MU5001 supports PP2P / L2TP and other client modes, so you can easily access the internal network outside the company or campus. As such, nothing is in any meaningful way "connected" to a router, it's simple not necessary in the way IP networks function. The ZTE MU5001 brings a fluid and enjoyable internet experience even when the internet connection is shared between users. Also I don’t want 24 months contract when I know that in next 3-6 months I will be moving to different place and I don’t know if 5g will be available there and eventually I need proper fibre connection anyway (right now I can only get 25/5 from BT). The ZTE 5G router has better attentuation straight outvog the box and gave a stronger internet connection stand alone compared to the Huawei.

As per the post title, I'm seeking advice on how to combine ZTE MU5001 Mobile 5G Router with Tenda Nova MW6 mesh system to assign static IP addresses to some of my hardware. Mick, your explanation helps me better understand how it all works albeit when you start talking about subnets you're getting towards the limit of my understanding.Still seems a solid device, nicely built and quite a good interface (compared to some of the awful UIs I've seen), shame it doesn't work for me. The bit pattern of the mask does not have to exactly align with the dots in dotted decimal notation, but often it does which makes it easier to read. Just one question, if I may (and apologies if this is REALLY stupid): prior to switching my MW6 over to bridged mode, I had main and guest wifi networks defined on the MW6. If you just want to travel or business trip, ZTE MU5001 will be a good partner for your surfing on the way. something are "invalid" on your current network and either won't work at all and/or won't be able to reach the Internet.
