About this deal

Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Although the reader knows from the start that her intentions are nefarious, you also cannot help but be fascinated by her. As a stand-alone book, though (which it very well could be), I'm much happier with it (and if it were a stand-alone book, I'd be tempted to give it four stars instead of three, although the ending was a little syruppy) - intriguing characters - I really like the shifting point of view - and charmingly, if a little too sweetly, written. Norwegian piece by Catherine Gonsholt Ighanian on The Lollipop Shoes and the possibility of its being filmed.

Thierry le Tresset is described by Vianne as tall and heavy, with "an open face", "working hands", and "best suited to building walls". But I liked this book so much that I could forgive talking about pulque as a powdered hallucinogen that could be added to water and reconstituted (it's the fermented sap of the cactus, so no, it can't), or referring the Incas as a MesoAmerican civilization, or Hurakan as an Aztec god (he was Taino, Hurricanes come from the Caribbean). In 1994, the duo decided to launch their collection of fashion accessories and impose their take on fashion!Along the way, they’ll unlock wisdom for those of us navigating our own coupledoms, and for those still seeking their perfect match.

Some of the places are of course fictional but the essence of the area in real life has been carefully evoked. She has many personas, but the one she uses to seduce Vianne and Anouk is charming, bohemian and free-spirited. He has a very simple, enthusiastic personality - "cheery, determined and impervious to any argument", but he is also patronizing and slightly mysoginistc. To Zozie, the Kindly Ones are the cost of the lives she leads; the authorities after her for fraud, theft and possibly murder. The novel as a stand alone book, works well, it’s an easy read with nothing particularly difficult to understand, but as the second novel of a pre-established book it’s a bit too easy of a read.In Love Is Not Enough, Mark’s first Audible Original, you’ll follow five real people over the course of six months as they navigate f--ked up romantic situations, ranging from dating app addiction to marital affairs to absurd fantasies. I think that this and the suspension of disbelief required at the neat, tidy ending are the only things that make me give it a four instead of a five (a five for me is "I WILL reread this! As Zozie reveals some of the things she has done to her victims in the past, I found myself really concerned for Vianne's family, who are only trying to live a quiet life. All we’re given is his resentment and anger towards Vianne for a short period of time, and before we know it, the novel is closing and he’s back and embracing his new found family.
