Description

Henry Allergy has just one power setting but you can adjust the suction to some degree by swivelling a valve on the head of the suction tube. But here’s the rub… While the valve helps dial down the suction, there’s still way too much of it when used on a carpet, even with the bristles raised. It’s not terrible but it just takes extra effort to push and pull it across the carpet. Put another way, it doesn’t glide across carpet like a Dyson or a Shark. When it came to the hard floor test I had a choice of two main floor brushes. The ‘universal’ brush head comprises a simple surround of stiff bristles that can be retracted for carpet use – this is the head you will use the most if your home has a mixture of hard floor and carpet since it’s easy to simply stamp on the large retractor switch as you change surfaces. This is a more expensive material than normal filters which is why you will mostly have to pay a bit more for a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter but the benefit is significant because you can be safe in the knowledge that it will capture and retain everything it takes in. How do you clean a HEPA filter? Vacuum cleaners are unhygienic machines! Make sure you wear gloves when cleaning a filter to keep your hands clean. You may also want to wear a face mask to avoid breathing in dust and other small particles. Step 3: Vacuum Both Sides of the Filter

HEPA H13 grade, high performance filtration designed to trap microscopic particles such as pet dander, pollen, fine dust and other allergens. Perfect for pet owners, allergy sufferers and homes with children. Hospital Grade Henry Allergy HEPA Filter Fitment As Henry filters aren’t washable, they occasionally need to be replaced. Henry filters are widely available – just make sure you buy the right filter for your model. All you need to do is remove it from the vacuum cleaner and run it under some cold water until you have visibly removed the dust that you can see. No. HEPA filters quite expensive to manufacture so one of the ways to keep the price down is to put a standard filter in which is quite common on low-cost hoovers. If you have access to another vacuum cleaner, use it to vacuum both sides of the filter. Make sure you clean all areas of the filter including the sides. This is an effective way to remove more dirt than just tapping off loose debris.

This size of dust particles is measured in microns. 1 micron is one-millionth of a metre, way too small to be visible to the human eye. The only slight issue is that the metal poles do have a tendency to become stiffer over time and therefore more difficult to pull apart. I recommend you separate them at the end of every clean as a preventative measure. Tip: Don’t have a spare vacuum? You can use a soft brush to remove loose dirt and other debris, although this won’t be as effective. Step 4: Replace the Bag

A bag that’s more than 75% full may reduce suction. This is because the air must be forced through all the collected debris.

Cleaning the filter on your vacuum cleaner at least once a month is recommended to ensure that there is no loss of performance and it is still collecting all of the tiny particles that it is made to do. All filters are not the same and the cheaper ones will not filter out a lot of the dust a filter can only be called a HEPA filter if it keeps hold of 99.97% of all dust particles. If you haven’t cleaned the filter for a while, you’ll immediately notice how dirty it’s become. The more dirt collected on the filter, the less suction your Henry can generate. To access the filter, you need to take off the lid of your Henry using the same method as when replacing the bag. Keep in mind that the filter is never going to appear as white and clean as when you first bought it. The goal is to remove as much dust as possible – not to restore the filter to its original appearance.Henry Hoover filters can’t be washed with water. Instead, you should remove as much dust as possible by tapping off the loose debris into a bin, then vacuuming the filter with another vac. If you don’t have another vacuum, then a soft (dry) brush can be used to remove dirt. Additionally, if you’ve made the mistake of washing your Henry vacuum’s filter with water, then you’ll probably need to replace it. Once dust and dirt become mud inside the filter, it’s virtually impossible to remove. If you look at a HEPA filter it looks like some kind of material that has been folded up but is actually glass fibres that catch very fine particles. Unfortunately, Henry vacuum filters are not washable. Cleaning with water will cause any dirt and dust to become more clogged and reduce the suction power even further. Water could also damage the filter and cause it to perform less effectively. Can You Put a Henry Hoover Filter in the Washing Machine?

The Henry Allergy HVA160 adds boosted HEPA filtration to the mix, preventing any harmful particles from escaping into the wild. If you have a home with allergy sufferers, then it’s an excellent choice. Design and Features How much dust stays inside the hoover depends on the kind of filtration system that it has and the better the filter the more dust that stays inside the vacuum cleaner and the cleaner your home is. The Henry range is beloved for good reason: the vacuum cleaners are powerful, simple to use and deliver a huge amount of power.HEPA Filters must satisfy a certain levelof efficiency. The HEPA (H13) filter in Henry Allergy is certified to clean, trap and eliminate particlesdown to 0.3 microns at 99.97% efficiency. That’s particles up to300 times smaller than a single grain of sand (90μm)! On the other hand, if you just have hard floors, then the streamlined hard floor-specific head is the one to grab. In fact, this head is one of the very best hard floor heads I’ve ever used. It’s really flat, like a sleek sports car, but it performs superbly well and feels fabulously smooth to push around. A high-five to Numatic’s R&D department for this radical piece of engineering. This is a premium compatible part that has been expertly designed for use in medical surroundings. Use around the home stops dust from re-entering the air. A god send for those with allergies.
